“It’s wonderful to join Rackspace at a time of such exciting growth for the organisation,” said Bhargava. “Our teams across the APJ region work tirelessly to unlock digital transformation potential for our clients, and I am pleased to come on board to support and lead them in their journey.
"With the industry balancing concerns about how to best invest in new cloud technologies while optimising legacy IT, the time is ripe to help companies of all shapes and sizes navigate this complexity with Rackspace.”
Bhargava will look to continue the rapid growth momentum across the APJ region with both the Singapore and Hong Kong offices moving to larger premises this year. Some of the major developments in 2019 include a strategic partnership with Tech Mahindra and the signing of an alliance agreement among Rackspace, KDDI Corporation and iret in Japan to facilitate the commercialisation of selected Rackspace products in Japan.
In addition, Rackspace has been recognised as Asia Pacific’s 2019 Managed Cloud Services Provider of the Year by Frost & Sullivan for the fourth year in a row. The company was also named a Great Place to Work and a Great Place to Learn in Singapore.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Sandeep to the Rackspace family,” said Kevin Jones, CEO of Rackspace.
“Sandeep brings a wealth of global experience and an outstanding track record for leading and transforming businesses with energy and passion. I’m looking forward to seeing his positive influence take shape in the region with their teams, and our customers and partners.”
Rackspace rebranded earlier this year, marking 20 years of transformation. At the time of the announcement in Singapore in March Ali Azarian, Head of South East Asia, Rackspace said that "Technology is merely the vehicle which delivers svstems as far as we are concerned. We focus on customer outcomes – it's in our DNA."
Rather than emphasising the sale of products and services, Rackspace focuses more on where customers are on their cloud journeys and drawing on their experience with helping customers in multiple geographies to see how they can help.
