ON Semiconductor boosts industrial motor drive portfolio

ON Semiconductor, driving energy-efficient innovations, has expanded its portfolio for industrial motor drive applications.

Motor drive systems play a significant role in industrial automation and robotics. These systems require energy efficiency, precise measurement, accurate control, and high reliability within harsh industrial environments.

The new solutions include:

- Transfer-molded power integrated modules (TM-PIMs)

The NXH25C120L2C2, NXH35C120L2C2/2C2E, and NXH50C120L2C2E, which are 25, 35, and 50 Ampere versions of TM-PIM for 1,200 Volt (V) applications. They are available in converter-inverter-brake (CIB) and converter-inverter (CI) configurations.

The modules consist of six 1,200 V insulated-gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs), six 1.600 V rectifiers, and a Negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor for system-level temperature monitoring. The CIB versions use an additional 1,200 V IGBT coupled with a diode.

- Intelligent power modules (IPMs)

The NFAM2012L5B and NFAL5065L4B are compact three-phase inverters with integrated short circuit rated trench IGBTs, a fast-recovery diode, gate driver, bootstrap circuits, amd an optional NTC thermistor.

- IGBT gate drivers

With on-chip galvanic isolation, the NCD57000 and NCD57001 enable compact, efficient, reliable gate driver designs by reducing system complexity.

- Zero-drift operational amplifier

The NCS21871 is ideal for low-side current sensing. It provides precision signal conditioning with a low input offset voltage of 45 µV, and maintains that precision from -40 °C to +125 °C.

- Low-dropout (LDO) regulator

The NCP730 delivers 150 mA with ±1% output voltage accuracy, and has an operating input voltage range of 2.7 to 38 V with low dropout.
