The ONUG Fall conference, taking place October 14-15, 2020 EDT, will see Vint Cerf, one of the “Fathers of the Internet,” and Dan Lynch, Founder of Interop, joining ONUG’s Co-Founder and Co-Chair Nick Lippis at the opening keynote. John Willis, Senior Director of the Global Transformation Office at Red Hat and Zhen Fan, Director of IT at FedEx, will join them for a discussion on the path to open standards in the cloud and ONUG-led efforts to develop a Cloud Security Notification Framework (CSNF).
ONUG is the only organisation composed of senior-level IT executives from the Global 2000 that represent the interests and initiatives of the enterprise community. Through its global event series, working groups, training academies, and webinars, ONUG plays a central role in the creation of new and improved tools to develop, manage, and secure the digital enterprise.
“As we consume more cloud services from multiple cloud providers, enterprises are having to deal with disparate security notification frameworks. The goal of the ONUG Collaborative and this CSNF initiative, which we will be discussing at ONUG Fall, is to provide standardisation around these definitions and syntax of key security notifications,” said Lippis.
CSNF is the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) for the cloud era. The goal of CSNF is to better leverage expensive tools and mitigate staff bloat by gaining cloud transparency and dashboards that enable a shared responsibility model between large enterprise consumers and their multiple cloud providers. Deliverables include creating common definitions and syntax for important security events, alerts, alarms and notifications.
