The Singapore Computer Society (SCS), in partnership with the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), has launched the 4th edition of the Singapore 100 Women in Tech (SG100WIT) list. This Singapore Women in Tech (SGWIT) initiative spotlights and honours the achievements of women in Singapore’s tech industry, inspiring more women to pursue and advance their careers in tech and nurturing young talents in science, tech, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Themed Empowering Yourself, Inspiring Others, the 4th SG100WIT will celebrate 100 outstanding women across the Professional and Girls in Tech categories. The Professional category recognises trailblazers who create innovative businesses or harness technology for organisational and societal benefit while advocating gender diversity, while the Girls in Tech category spotlights female students aged 13 and above who excel in STEM and demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit by leveraging technology to positively impact their communities.
In 2023, SG100WIT saw a record 800 nominations and double the number of nominations for the Girls in Tech category. SG100WIT 2025, coinciding with Singapore’s 60th birthday (SG60) in 2025, will not only honour the contributions of women in tech across generations, but also highlight their evolving roles and lasting impact on Singapore’s innovation and society. The SG100WIT list further reaffirms the nation's commitment to gender equality and empowerment, inspiring future generations to lead and drive technological transformation.
Tan Lee Chew, President of Women in Tech Chapter at SCS and President, Smart City & Digital Solutions at ST Engineering shared: “We are proud to champion an initiative that celebrates and empowers women in tech. By showcasing the stories of these trailblazers, we know we will inspire future leaders, break barriers, and shape the technology landscape of tomorrow. The rise in nominations over the years is a testament to the growing influence of women in the industry, and as we celebrate SG60, let’s continue to accelerate progress towards a more gender-diverse and dynamic tech workforce.”
Dorcas Tan, Co-Chairperson of SG Women in Tech and Acting Cluster Director, Human Capital Cluster at IMDA said: “As Singapore continues to position itself as a global technology and innovation hub, the role of women in shaping our digital future has never been more crucial. The SG100WIT initiative celebrates the achievements of women in tech while reinforcing our national commitment to building a diverse and forward-looking talent pipeline. As we advance towards Singapore’s Smart Nation vision, we must continue fostering an inclusive ecosystem where women can thrive, lead, and drive impactful change in Singapore’s tech landscape.”
The judging committee will be chaired by Professor Alex Siow, SCS Honorary Fellow and Professor (Practice) in the School of Computing, National University of Singapore. The selected 100 honourees will be celebrated at a special ceremony in August 2025 and featured in a series of events designed to inspire and empower future generations of women in tech.
