NTT Data sets up new business unit for Microsoft Cloud

NTT DATA, a global provider of digital business and technology services, has set up a NTT Data business unit for Microsoft Cloud to meet rising demand for secure, AI-driven enterprise cloud transformation.

The global unit brings together NTT DATA’s industry and technical expertise in Microsoft Cloud, security and AI solutions to accelerate cloud modernisation, scale agentic AI and navigate complex sovereignty and compliance requirements. “Our expanded collaboration with Microsoft reflects a shared commitment to helping clients tackle today’s complex business challenges with speed, scale and trust,” said Charlie Li, Head of Cloud and Security Services, NTT DATA.

“Through our global business unit for Microsoft Cloud, we’re bringing together the strengths of both organisations to solve modern problems using advanced cloud and AI technologies, whether it’s modernising operations, improving how people work and connect, or delivering more intelligent, secure and resilient digital experiences.”

With a presence across more than 50 countries and a bench of Microsoft-certified specialists holding 24,000 certifications, the NTT Data business unit for Microsoft Cloud helps clients accelerate digital transformation globally.

Led by Aishwarya Singh, Senior VP and Head of the Global Business Unit for Microsoft Cloud, the unit builds on NTT DATA’s longstanding strategic alliance with Microsoft to elevate existing capabilities and expands its global reach, reinforcing NTT DATA’s role as a trusted enterprise transformation partner.

To accelerate adoption, NTT DATA is aligning its sales, pre-sales and delivery teams with Microsoft to help clients design, build, secure, migrate and implement solutions on Microsoft Cloud that deliver measurable business impact across industries and regulated markets.

Core areas of focus include:

Agentic AI at scale

Helping clients rapidly scale AI agents with Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Azure AI Foundry, enabling real-time voice communications and intelligent orchestration with speed, efficiency and ethical integrity.

Modern cloud solutions

Supporting organisations in building and updating applications in Microsoft Azure to boost agility, reduce complexity and stay ahead of change.

Developer acceleration

Empowering Azure developers to accelerate cloud-native development with a microservices library of 500+ industry-accelerators, built on top of NTT DATA’s Industry Cloud platform.

Enhanced digital experience

Enabling more connected, collaborative workplaces with Microsoft 365 and transforming customer engagement through integrated Microsoft Dynamics 365 Contact Center solutions.

Sovereign cloud adoption

NTT DATA is one of the few Microsoft partners collaborating on the Sovereign Cloud specialisation under the Microsoft AI Cloud partner programme.

This announcement also strong momentum for NTT DATA’s Agentic AI Services for Hyperscaler AI Technologies, built on Azure and Azure AI Foundry. These services support every stage of an agentic AI journey with cloud providers – from advisory and building AI agents to implementation, connectivity and ongoing managed services. Applicable across all industries including manufacturing, banking and healthcare, these services help organisations maximise AI investments and responsibly innovate while ensuring ongoing optimisation and success.

Launched in March, the services are available in over 20 languages across every major market and have generated nearly 100 enterprise client opportunities, including Newell Brands, whose brand portfolios include Coleman, Rubbermaid, and Yankee Candle.

NTT Data said the interest underscores the growing demand for AI-powered automation, intelligent workflows and seamless enterprise integration and the need for scalable solutions that move AI out of the lab and into production. NTT DATA is also scaling support for multi-agent models by leveraging Azure AI Agent Service on Azure AI Foundry. As a result, NTT DATA can help clients build, manage and orchestrate multi-agent workflows across multiple platforms.

“NTT DATA has played a pivotal role in driving global adoption of Microsoft Azure innovations. This global business unit and our expanded collaboration enables enterprises to integrate AI seamlessly, modernise operations and achieve digital transformation with confidence," said Stephen Boyle, Global Leader, SI & Advisory at Microsoft.

NTT Data also teamed up with Mistral AI recently. Mistral AI makes open-weight, high-performance generative AI (gen AI) models. The two companies announced plans to jointly sell and deploy safe and private enterprise-grade AI solutions that are able to foster strategic autonomy for clients.

The companies will combine NTT DATA’s gen AI and IT services portfolio, global delivery capabilities, industry expertise and trusted client relationships with Mistral AI’s solutions and advanced generative AI models. Initial focus areas include:

Sustainable and secure AI co-development

The companies will develop sustainable and highly secure private AI solutions for organisations in regulated sectors such as financial services, insurance, defense and public sector. The companies will provide end-to-end solutions from infrastructure to business processes powered by AI applications for clients operating on private clouds.

AI-driven innovation for IT infrastructure and customer experience

The companies will pioneer the integration of Mistral AI technologies into NTT DATA’s customer experience platforms, beginning with agentic AI call centre solutions in Europe and Asia Pacific. Joint projects could include co-development of large language models (LLMs) for specific languages, which will further AI innovation tailored to local markets and specialised needs.

Go-to-market expansion

NTT DATA and Mistral AI will jointly develop and execute regional go-to-market strategies tailored to the unique dynamics of countries including Singapore and Australia. End-to-end AI services will range from use-case development and customisation to implementation, support and managed services. Dedicated sales teams will be assigned to address key client needs and priorities.

To drive innovation and implementation excellence, NTT DATA will establish a Mistral AI Center of Excellence staffed with subject matter experts and dedicated resources. In addition, Mistral AI will launch a technical enablement and certification programme for NTT DATA personnel.
