Indonesian women-led startups launched into Southeast Asia through SheHacks Vietnam

SheHacks, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison's (IOH's) technology-based women's empowerment programme, has gone beyond borders through a global market benchmarking trip to Vietnam.

The initiative is designed to open new market opportunities, strengthen Southeast Asia's innovation network, and demonstrate the readiness of Indonesian women-led AI startups to compete and collaborate in the global ecosystem. The Vietnam programme is set to become a model for cross-regional collaboration, IOH said.

SheHacks brought together the top five startups from the 2025 MVP Accelerator, representing Indonesia's priority digital sectors, to strengthen each startup's capacity to develop products and build more sustainable business models. The five startups are:

- DoctorTool: an AI-powered digital ecosystem for patients, healthcare facilities, and medical professionals

- Hear Me: a technology-based communication solution for the deaf community

- Serenic.ai: a clinical AI solution that automates hospital administrative tasks, including claims optimisation and conversational doctor-patient medical record documentation

- Katalis AI: a digital marketing solution combining AI and data analytics

- Lunar Interactive: a gamification-based system for developing foreign-language speaking skills

The founders participated in a structured series of activities designed to unlock investment opportunities, foster collaborations, and exchange business insights. They also explored potential mentoring from practitioners in Vietnam.

Reski Damayanti, Chief Legal & Regulatory Officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison said: "This programme is designed to create real opportunities for Indonesian women in the global digital economy, reflecting Indosat's commitment to inclusive empowerment, where women play a vital role in nation-building.

"Through cross-border collaboration, stronger institutional networks, and investor access, SheHacks is extending its reach from Indonesia to Southeast Asia. We want women founders to forge strong connections with the global digital ecosystem, unlock funding opportunities, and transform their innovations into solutions that create meaningful impact for communities."

The visit further underscored SheHacks’ ability to build an innovation bridge between Indonesia and Vietnam. Activities included 51 business-matching sessions, intensive mentoring with experts in AI, business strategy, legal, economics, and community building, collaboration discussions with government innovation institutions, and featured events with investors and ecosystem enablers. In addition, SheHacks established strategic connections with six investors, six government agencies, and nine potential partners across Vietnam’s ecosystem, laying a strong foundation for sustained cross-border collaboration.

These collaborations involved key institutions in Vietnam, including the Department of Science & Technology (DOST), the Startup & Innovation Hub (SIHUB), the HCMC Innovation Department, the Business Startup Support Centre (BSSC), and the Investment & Trade Promotion Center (ITPC). Their involvement paves the way for soft-landing support and market access for Indonesian startups in Vietnam.

The programme further demonstrated that SheHacks is more than an innovation incubator. It is a cross-border women's empowerment platform that builds tangible global connections, IOH said.

Featured sessions with Do Ventures and DMZ Ventures gave founders a valuable platform to showcase their innovations, connect with investors, and strengthen their cross-border presence. The visit made clear that Indonesian women-led startups are not only highly competitive, but ready to make their mark on international markets — with the right ecosystem behind them.
