Brocade has announced the appointment of Ian Weston as Federal Government Business Manager in Australia.
In this Canberra-based role, Weston will be responsible for extending the reach of Brocade’s Fabric Ethernet and Software Defined Networking solutions with its partner channel. He will also manage key account relationships for federal accounts which are already using Brocade Fabric Ethernet and its SAN* solutions.
Weston joins Brocade following a successful 20-year career in the Federal Government sector. He has held a variety of both vendor and in-house roles for computing, networking, security and defence, as well as business and communications systems.
Brocade operates in Australia via a channel go-to market structure, and partners with leading distributors and resellers to benefit mutual customers with innovative industry solutions. In Canberra, partners include Fujitsu and Correct Communications.
The appointment highlights the company’s focus to meet the specific needs for the federal government market. “The federal space has always been key and we feel that Ian’s drive and initiative will suit Brocade, its partner channel and customers perfectly,” said Brocade’s Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand, Greig Guy.
*SAN, or storage area network, uses storage connected by a network to store data more efficiently than can be done with a single storage device.
