A10 Networks, an application networking provider, has introduced four new Thunder Series appliances including the industry’s first 100 Gigabit Ethernet capable Layer 4-7 network appliance, and new mid- to high-end models that expand the company’s portfolio of solutions that scale and secure data centre applications and networks.
The rapid growth of data centre traffic from mobile, cloud, big data and web is driving the adoption of higher performance compute infrastructures such as 40GbE/100GbE networking infrastructure solutions, the company said.
The four new Thunder Series models, available in Q2 this year, feature flexible 10GbE/40GbE/100GbE interface options and total throughput ranging from 40Gps to 150Gbps. The new appliances are based on A10’s Advanced Core Operating System (ACOS) software, and are designed to consume less power, cooling and rack space.
“As data centre traffic rates continue to rapidly rise driven by major trends like mobile and big data, our customers see increasing demands on data centre networks, requiring ever great scale, performance and security,” said Jason Matlof, VP of marketing. “We are committed to delivering our service provider, enterprise and web giant customers high performance solutions that help them keep pace with traffic demands, performance requirements and increasing security threats.”
The A10 Thunder Series is A10’s premium product family, and delivers performance application networking solutions of up to 150 Gbps.
