Cheng manages the OEM, retail, and consumer hardware & software channels with partners such as mobile operators and hosting service providers. Colin will also develop and implement go-to-market plans for Windows Phone.

Cheng is a 30-year veteran of the technology industry. In his previous role spanning over seven years in Apple South Asia, he was the Country Manager for Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Emerging Markets. In his last two years in the role, he was responsible for managing and growing the retail business in the consumer electronics segment for South Asia.
Cheng has also spent time with SupportSoft Asia Pacific, which provides self-healing software solutions to Windows PCs and technology support services for telcos and MNCs across Asia Pacific, and with IBM.
Cheng said, “Microsoft is in a unique position right now as it strengthens and simplifies the core experiences for all consumers, and commit to delivering a cloud for everyone on every device.
