Digi Telecommunications (Digi) today celebrated its 20th anniversary together with its 2,600 employees at its headquarters and offices across the country. The company also marks this occasion by appreciating all its loyal customers through a wide range of special promotions in the month of May.

“Digi has come a long way since 1995, and twenty years is a short time for a business to grow to where we are now. We’re proud of what we have achieved and recognise the people who have made this success possible, both Digizens and customers alike,” said Albern Murty, Digi’s Chief Executive Officer.

In 1997, Digi had a customer base of 150,000. That has now grown to 11.7 million customers. The company also celebrated its birthday with a special group of 116 Digizens who also celebrated their 20th year with Digi, and individual and enterprise business customers who have been with Digi for as long.

“This speaks volumes about the kind of company Digi is to work for, and believe in. We are strongly positioned in the market, having the fastest growing data network, the latest IT infrastructure, widest range of customer touchpoints and a strong, passionate team of Digizens driving the business. We look forward to many more years of inspiring Malaysia by being the best mobile Internet provider for all,” said Murty.

In conjunction with its 20th anniversary, Digi introduced its RM1 million prize giveaway for prepaid customers and will soon announce more attractive promotions for postpaid and enterprise business customers. “We are making sure that our 20th anniversary celebration is a truly inclusive celebration for all. Our prepaid customers have already walked away with RM500,000 worth of prizes, and we are looking forward to rewarding more of our customers this month,” added Murty.
