It's all about delivering the right mobile content for maximum effectiveness now
Ooyala, in enabling the delivery of TV everywhere through analytics, makes it possible for broadcasters and businesses to bring to audiences the personalised videos they want on any screen. They will be showcasing solutions on how the broadcasting and media industries can leverage analytics to determine and generate new revenue streams, better manage advertisements and monetise platforms.
A presentation by Keith Budge, VP for Asia Pacific and Japan, Ooyala at a media preview for CommunicAsia2015, EnterpriseIT2015 and BroadcastAsia2015 quoted Ooyala research about mobile video consumption being on the rise. "There is a compelling set of changes and opportunities in the way content is delivered, monetised and audiences are engaged," Budge said, noting that "everything is going mobile". "Consumption of video on mobile devices is growing at a very fast rate. It is probably growing faster in Asia than anywhere else in the world."
Budge added that a whole new industry around content creation and delivering that content to mobile devices, and also understanding the mobile customer, from what they are watching to when, for how long, and if they begin in the middle or leave it halfway. "People want to watch what they want to watch when they want to watch it, and on what device they want to watch it on. People under 30 pretty much don't watch linear TV at all." he said. "How do you give them the content they want to see?"
Ooyala can make a difference, Budge added, with customers like The North Face combining video and deep analytics to increase engagement by 15% to 30%; an an increase of 20% in customer satisfaction for Dell with effective use of digital video, and 5x ROI on video through the application of analytics for Sephora. "There is a tangible effect on the amount of money these companies are able to make," he said. In the region, Channel NewsAsia is also using Ooyala technology.
