CDNetworks has noted that a recent Forrester Research report on the content delivery network (CDN) market is aligned with its own observations that CDNs are evolving from being seen as commodities into an integral part of enterprise IT. The report addresses the challenges that CDN providers face when accelerating dynamic, mobile and video content, as well as serving as the first line of defense against security threats.
Enterprises are now looking to engage a CDN vendor that offers both Web performance and DDoS mitigation on a global network, the company said. Enterprises which move their websites and cloud applications to a CDN with integrated security features can enjoy a better defense against attacks without losing performance, CDNetworks explained.
