Source: Technavio.
Research firm Technavio predicts that the CAGR for the video surveillance market in MENA is expected to grow significantly at 14.63% from 2014 to 2019 in a new report that names Axis Communications, Bosch Security Systems, Hikvision Digital Technology, Honeywell Security Group,
MOBOTIX, NICE Systems, and Tyco International as key vendors.

“The construction industry in the Middle East, which had reduced expenditure on video surveillance during economic crisis, is expected to increase investment during the forecast period,” says Faisal Ghaus, Vice President of Technavio.

“The oil production infrastructures are growing in Saudi Arabia, which is another reason for the increasing expenditure on video surveillance.”

A history of terrorist activities, the shift from analogue to IP cameras, and stringent government regulations have driven the market, Technavio said. Trends
to expect include:
  • Emergence of video analytics
  • Rise of intelligent video surveillance
  • More infrastructure projects
  • Introduction of edge-based video surveillance
  • Popularity of cloud-based services
