Furniture e-tailer hits on digital way to take the guesswork out of furniture shopping

Lamya and Tanya's Home Furnishing, a home furnishings e-tailer, says it is the world's first shopping portal to provide a 'Virtual Trial' before buying an item.

The option is designed to help eliminate buyer's regret. For Rs100 (about US$1.60), customers can see what the product looks like in familiar surroundings before buying it.

After selecting the product, design and colour, prospective customers can take a picture of the area where you want to place the product, click on the 'try' option and upload the image. They receive an edited picture with the product placed appropriately. If the purchase is then made, the Rs100 is taken off the final price.
