Ossia has shared more details about its Cota wireless charging demo at CES 2016 and said that it will also unveil the world's first wireless self-charging battery – the AA-size battery that never runs down.
The company said the Cota showcase will include a compact tabletop transmitter/charger, mobile
phone and Internet of Things (IoT) receivers. Complementing the hardware will be a full set of web and mobile applications for operating and managing the system locally and remotely. Together the hardware platform and software solutions will demonstrate a number of real-world applications that launches wireless power out of the lab and into the living room.
In support of the Cota platform,
Ossia will be accompanied by wireless charging ecosystem partners KDDI, a major global wireless service provider as well as
component, system and software suppliers Si-Ware, XPNDBLS and OSF Global
Services. KDDI has partnered with Ossia to demonstrate a working
Connected Home IoT application using both wireless power and data from
the Cota platform.
"We are very excited to show CES
2016 attendees and the rest of the world how Cota can free us from power
cables in the same way that Wi-Fi freed us from data cables," said Hatem Zeine,
founder and CEO of Ossia and creator of Cota technology. "There have
been many claims about wireless power but at CES 2016 Ossia is setting
the new standard by demonstrating real wireless power, real applications
and a real partner ecosystem."
