China Telecom Global (CTG) and Kazakhtelecom (KT) have teamed up to deliver a low latency, high-capacity route via the Europe-Asia Link or Transit Silk Road spanning Hong Kong to Frankfurt in Germany at 162ms latency.
While CTG has been a network service provider between Asia and Europe, transiting via China-Kazakhstan since 2012, this partnership represents CTG’s first direct cooperation with KT.
Variations of a new silk road connecting Europe and Asia have been discussed as far back as the 1990s, with a digital or cyber silk road being one of the themes.
Both companies share the view that this contract would not only lay a solid foundation for further business collaboration in the future, but also make a significant contribution to China's Belt and Road Initiative.

CTG will continue looking for cooperation opportunities along the route.
