Akamai and True Internet to boost digital performance in Thailand

Akamai Technologies, a global player in content delivery network (CDN) services, has announced a partnership with True Internet, one of the leading Internet service providers in Thailand. The new partnership will see Akamai’s solutions become part of True Internet’s portfolio.

Vasu Khunvasi, General Manager, True Internet said, “Broadband usage in Thailand has grown significantly over the past few years. With ongoing plans to further strengthen the national digital infrastructure in Thailand, the required bandwidth is expected to keep rising. Under the partnership, Akamai’s full suite of solutions in Web performance, media delivery and Web security will be available to businesses in Thailand through True Internet. True Internet will join the NetAlliance Partner Program which enables partners to align with Akamai through various programmes including training and certification as well as sales and presales support. 

Today, 39.3% of Thailand’s population use the Internet as of December 2015, up from 23.7% in 2011*. Of the 39 million Internet users in the country, 70% accessed the Internet more often via smartphones than desktop computers*.
