CA Technologies has announced the availability of Microservice Architecture – Aligning Principles, Practices and Culture, a practical guide to designing and sustaining software systems that use the modular, distributed approach of microservices. The book can be downloaded for free, compliments of CA Technologies.

The book features the experiences of global organisations that have successfully adopted microservices to improve development speed and system safety at scale. Co-authored by the API Academy at CA Technologies and published by O’Reilly Media, the book explains why microservices are important, as well as how to build sustainable applications using a microservice architecture. Best practices for meeting practical, organisational and cultural challenges to microservices adoption are introduced.

“Organisations of every size and in every industry are relying on microservices to increase their development velocity and system manageability at scale,” said Matt McLarty, VP of the API Academy at CA Technologies and a co-author of the book. “This book will help those organisations—as well as ones just getting started—use a microservice architecture to chart a successful course as their systems grow.”

The API Academy helps organisations with their strategy, design and architecture for web APIs and microservices. Through published writings, public speaking and direct consulting, the API Academy helps organisations adopt principles, practices and culture that bring success in the application economy.
