Qlik, a visual analytics provider, has released a Web-based app about Asia Pacific cost of living across eight cities as a showcase of the power of its visualisation platform. While the company already has some 39,000 clients, Qlik wants to bring the data visualisation message to more people.
Phillip Beniac, Regional VP, Asia Pacific & Japan, Qlik, said that the apps created by Qlik give potential customers "a sense of what is possible" and enable data dialogues, as opposed to static displays of data. Each screen displayed by a Qlik app is interactive, allowing users to click on the data to obtain further details. The apps can also allow storytelling - the highlighting of key insights that have been discovered.
"People want to consume and digest data," he said. "The platform itself allows these apps to be built quickly and easily...This is about discovery, this is about insight."
The new app, which took some weeks to build, compares the cost of living across eight key cities in Asia Pacific (APAC) – Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Mumbai, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney. Built on Qlik Sense, the Qlik APAC Cost of Living app uses embedded visual analytics to enable users to uncover insights into the cost of living across different cities in the region. The app incorporates a broad cross-section of goods such as property, transport, education, entertainment, utilities, food, restaurants and clothing, in addition to allowing users to select items considered ‘Budget’, ‘Mid-range’ or ‘Expensive’ across any cost category.
CK Tan, Senior Manager, Product Marketing, Asia Pacific, Qlik, said that the mobile-ready app would be of interest to people planning to relocate across countries, or those who want to travel.
The company recently shared that DocuSign, which provides e-signature and digital transaction management (DTM) solutions, has chosen Qlik to help it drive sales and increase customer satisfaction.
DocuSign, which has offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Singapore and Tokyo, was seeking a visual analytics platform that not only aggregated data from a variety of sources, but also one that easily identified key metrics to drive sales performance and help the sales team understand key factors affecting customers – such as product usage, renewal terms, longevity of the customer’s relationship, and their satisfaction with using DocuSign.
“We needed a solution that would provide us the insights needed to stay ahead of our customers,” said Robert Parker, Senior Director of Business Intelligence at DocuSign. “The ability for our global team to have access to a visual analytics platform enables us to analyse data in real-time and make meaningful decisions right then and there to delight our customers at every opportunity.”
DocuSign integrated Qlik throughout the organisation to gain real-time 360o customer insights for their global sales team, customer success team, and professional services team. Individuals are able to sync existing sales tools with the Qlik solution, creating guided analysis paths to uncover nsights to share with the customer instantly rather than waiting weeks for reports to materialise. As a result of using Qlik, DocuSign has seen an increase in sales.
“By integrating Qlik, individuals are able to see the whole story that lives within their data,” said Mike Saliter, Vice President, Industry Solution Sales & Market Development at Qlik. “This allows sales teams to understand and identify their customer’s needs quickly, resulting in more relevant and effective service. Not only does this impact customer satisfaction, it ultimately leads to topline growth.”
