Viadex sponsors British Formula One star Jolyon Palmer ahead of Singapore Grand Prix

Viadex, the global IT infrastructure and deployment specialists, are set to sponsor British Formula One star Jolyon Palmer in his debut at the Singapore Grand Prix, scene of the first ever F1 night-race, on 16 to 18 September.

Palmer is a Renault Sport F1 Team driver, the 2014 GP2 champion and the son of former F1 driver and major UK circuit owner Jonathan Palmer.

Viadex specialises in creating next-generation IT to help global companies increase their efficiency and performance and Formula One increasingly relies on continuous IT innovation, from trackside analytics to high performance computing, to boost every car’s performance.

Viadex is a leading partner for Pure Storage, which earlier this year announced a global partnership with MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS. As a result it has been possible for the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS team to accelerate analysis of data-centric transactions that impact car performance and lap time, and they have achieved 35% faster race-related transactions.

Viadex Group Managing Director Dino Cooper said: “We are delighted to sponsor Jolyon in a sport that exemplifies how fast-paced technology innovation continuously improves performance. The Singapore Grand Prix is set in a high-tech, global city at the epicentre of Asia’s technology boom and it epitomises everything that we’re about.”

Palmer said: “I’m delighted to carry the Viadex logo on my crash helmet once again for the Singapore Grand Prix. It’s one of my favourite events of the year, and a circuit at which I’ve previously won in GP2, so I’m looking forward to a strong result with the Renault Sport F1 Team - and achieving valuable visibility for Viadex.”

Viadex opened its Asia Pacific office in Singapore last year, aiming to serve local, regional and global customers and also support an existing customer base. Viadex’s delivery of IT infrastructure involves ensuring reliability, speed and constant attention to detail, mirroring the priorities of an F1 team.
