This framework is a six-step process that involves input from various stakeholders – from the public, IDC Analyst assessment and the International Advisory Council, and will be used to determine this year’s winners. The process kicks off with open nomination to give the public sector, solution providers and the public the opportunity to nominate the Smart City projects that have made the most impact on their citizen experience.
"The Smart City Asia Pacific Awards were created to identify, benchmark and publicly vote on the best projects each year across 14 functional smart city strategic domains. This is an intensive six-month process that tracks and evaluates hundreds of smart city initiatives in Asia Pacific," states Gerald Wang, Head, Asia Pacific Government, IDC Government Insights. "For the last few years, IDC's trademarked and custom framework has helped numerous Asia Pacific city leaders understand and transform their smart city strategies and create innovative e-services. Awarded projects are winners that have withstood the true testament of rigorous global benchmarking and public scrutiny/"
