Singapore Computer Society (SCS), the nation’s largest body for infocomm and digital media professionals, has announced the winners of the 2017 IT Leader Awards. The awards, now in their 21st year, recognise the achievements and contributions of outstanding industry veterans as well as up-and-comers who are helping to transform and strengthen Singapore’s ICT industry.
This year’s Singapore Computer Society Gala Dinner & IT Leader Awards celebrated SCS' 50th anniversary and was graced by Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Tharman Shanmugaratnam. During the event, DPM Mr. Tharman shared with some 1,200 attendees his insights and recommendations on how ICT entrepreneurs and business leaders can remain competitive by further embracing a culture of innovation, internationalisation and investment.
“As the Singapore Computer Society enters its 50th year, our mission to drive a healthy development of Singapore’s ICT industry is as important as ever. As recently reinforced in the Committee for Future Economy recommendations, it is crucial that our ICT talent adapt and continue to gain new skills sets. Technology, innovation and digitisation are no longer professional buzz words for the ICT industries, but are transforming every aspect of how Singaporeans live, from shopping, to food delivery, to healthcare and transportation. With the Singapore Computer Society IT Leader Awards, we are celebrating the Singapore talent that are shaping our smart nation future,” said Howie Lau, President, Singapore Computer Society.
