Singapore home owners opt for smart homes

Sales were robust for iNz Residence executive condominium (EC) in Singapore on the first day of bookings on 11 March, with more than 80% of buyers opting for Smart Home Packages.

First-time home buyers Dominic Siew and Jade Lim were the first in the queue and picked a three-bedroom unit with the Deluxe Smart Home Package. “The price is definitely reasonable, given the location of iNz Residence, the quality of the home fixtures, and the smart lifestyle. We especially like the video intercom system, which will really enhance our home security,” said the couple.

Homebuyers are able to select the level of smart living they prefer: Basic, Plus or Deluxe. The Deluxe Smart Home Package offers home buyers up to 24 smart devices that enhance convenience, security, and provides greater peace of mind. These include the Smart Digital Lockset, Smart Washing Machine, and Smart Energy Meter.


Prepackaged smart scenarios include Away Mode, which checks that the air-conditioning and appliances are off, and the windows and doors are locked; and Sleep Mode, which turns off unnecessary appliances and activates the security system.

Close to 170 units at the Qingjian Realty development were sold on the first day of booking, with all five-bedroom maisonettes snapped up. Prices for these units range from S$1,188,000 to S$1,321,000.
