The commercial and residential solutions of Emerson have adopted a Toco toucan from Jurong Bird Park.  By adopting one of the park’s birds, Emerson is pleased to assist the park in its efforts to improve wildlife conservation and public awareness.

Hakan Erdamar, President, Asia and Middle East & Africa of Emerson Commercial & Residential Solutions and Robert Gaston, VP, Marketing, Strategic Accounts & Lifecycle Services, Emerson Automation Solutions together presented a cheque for the Toco toucan adoption to Dr Luis Carlos Neves, Director of Zoology, Wildlife Reserves Singapore during the adoption ceremony. Jurong Bird Park is managed by Wildlife Reserves Singapore, a self-funded organisation dedicated to protecting biodiversity in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

The company has been working with the Singapore tourist attraction – Singapore’s first wildlife park and Asia’s largest bird park – to help protect, conserve and restore wildlife and natural habitats. Emerson’s refrigeration solutions provide the cooling, quiet and comfort indoor environment and mimic sub Antarctic conditions for the penguin. This has given visitors to the Jurong Bird Park the opportunity to observe these birds in the flesh as they torpedo through the water and waddle around on ice.

During the adoption ceremony at the park, Hakan Erdamar, President, Asia and Middle East & Africa of Emerson Commercial & Residential Solutions, reaffirmed Emerson's commitment to using its cutting-edge technologies and solutions to ensure a sustainable future and improve the quality of people’s lives around the world.

The Toco toucan is best known for its distinctive large and colourful beak, which is hollow. The bird is very agile and easily catches food that is tossed into the air.
