And, in pursuing that goal, we’ve built a global service that help our members discover stories they love and these stories come from everywhere in the world. Through this partnership with LG U+, we are making it even easier for Korean consumers to access these great stories, delivered over LG U+’s IP TV screens in the highest quality, in the most engaging way.”
“Today’s announcement is a meaningful one as we expand the freedom of content choice for U+tv members amid the global trend of telcos introducing Netflix’s distinctive content to their consumers,” said Song Gu-young, VP of Home Media Division at LG U+.
Since May this year, LG U+ has offered a three-month Netflix subscription for new subscribers of their Unlimited High-speed Mobile Plan. LG U+ will expand the promotion to U+tv subscribers, in celebration of the IP TV Netflix service launch.
With the promotion, those who sign up for the VOD premium plan and U+ broadband (Giga Internet Safe or Giga Internet Slim Safe) by December 31 can enjoy unlimited Netflix content for three months. LG U+ plans to introduce Netflix to 1.05 million UHD2 set-top box users first, then expand the service to a wider audience later.
